I think a good question to often ask, is who was the Buddha?
A couple years ago, the BBC did a documentary on the Life of the Buddha. I liked watching this, explaining how the historical Shakyamuni Buddha went from being a prince to an ascetic spiritual wanderer. Someone could probably read about the 12 Great Deads of the Buddha to get a feel for the life of the Buddha, but sometimes its more entertaining to watch it in a film format with animations and music. Not all 12 deeds are in this documentary but its still entertaining to watch and educational at the same time.

I watched this a few years ago and it was actually the first time I was made aware that the Buddha was a real person. I’d sort of thought he was a mythical character.
Have you seen the documentary the PBS made last year? It’s similar but has a really nice touch.
Hey Joseph
I havn’t seen that one actually, I’ll try to look for it. Since you’re in Korea, I’m guessing you found it online somewhere? I’m in Sweden so I dont’ have access to PBS =D
Lee
yeah, I watched it in sections on youtube. Just search for The Buddha PBS. Each section linked to the next one.
Hey Joseph
Thanks for the tip, I’m on my way to youtube now =D
