Ven Thubten Chodron of Sravasti Abbey gives an interesting talk about reducing disappointments and miusunderstanding in relationships by understanding the time periods that people grew up in. The examples she cites, includes parents that grew up in the depression era, parents that grew up in during the race riots and Vietnam era, and understanding the younger generations that are born into a world steeped in technology.
