Lama Tsongkapha was a Buddhist saint and scholar, known for starting the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Every year, according to the lunar calendar, Buddhists that practice within the Gelug tradition celebrate Lama Tsongkhapa’s birthday.
