Here’s an interesting video I saw the other day, that explains some of the unique features of Buddhism. Its main topic is the difference between realizational religions and revealed religions.
Buddhism is unique in that its a realizational religion, in that nothing is set in stone and then handed over to people to believe based on blind faith. Instead, people are asked to question everything and then compare what we’ve heard with our own experience, to see if what is being discussed is true.
Ajahn Brahm is an monk from Western Australia that does a good job breaking down this topic and talking about basic buddhism in general, like generating compassion and dealing with the difficulties of daily life.
