Buddhist Global Relief is a charitable organization that was started after Venerable Bhikkhu Bodhi wrote an essay in 2007, calling American Buddhists to take more social action and move more towards “Engaged Buddhism.”

I will have to admit, that I haven’t been particularly engaged as I can. My feeling is at the least, I try to support those that are putting in the time and effort to enact change. Buddhist Global Relief focuses mainly on providing food for impoverished areas, and to help those living there in creating sustainability in the long run.
